Location
The Business Information Systems Specialist
Group (BISSG) meet at the London offices of the BCS. The room
is available from 18:00.
Room Layout
The room is classroom-style, with a speaker’s table at the front, accommodating up to 50 people. There will be tea and coffee available
for
attendees
and water for the speaker.
PowerPoint facilities (i.e. screen and projector) are normally available;
most speakers bring their own PCs. If a speaker wishes to use a
PC, please let us know in advance - and provide a copy of the
presentation at least a day in advance so that it can be loaded.
Content Guidelines
Please bear in mind that most people who attend our meetings are
business-oriented; we are IT management, consultants and academics,
rather than IT technicians. And so a business focus for your talk
would be ideal. The number of people attending ranges from 20 to
50.
In the past we have found that the perspectives listed below can
be very useful to the group:
- the history of ...
- overview of ...
- comparisons and contrasts ...
- practical experience - good and bad
Talks are normally informal with questions and comments taken during
or after your talk, as you prefer. We normally start at 18:30 and
finish at 20:30.
